Controversial media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has responded to renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, regarding the latter’s demand for a retraction and apology over VDM’s claims.
Falana, during a recent television interview, denied ever meeting or speaking with popular crossdresser Bobrisky and revealed that he and his legal team had requested VDM to retract his statements.
Falana threatened to file a civil lawsuit against VDM if the media personality failed to apologise for allegedly defaming him and his son, Nigerian musician Falz.
In reaction to the potential lawsuit, VeryDarkMan expressed indifference, stating that he is more focused on addressing institutional corruption in public institutions than on the Falanas’ legal threats. He maintained that Bobrisky, central to the controversy, should also be held accountable.
VDM pointed out that if he is to receive any legal correspondence from the Falanas, Bobrisky should also receive one, as it was the crossdresser who made the allegations in the first place via an audio clip.
Bobrisky, however, has since claimed that the audio clip in question was fake and generated using AI technology.
The legal dispute comes amid heightened public interest in defamation issues and social media’s role in spreading potentially damaging information.
