Richard William Huye III, formerly associated with Texas law firm McClenny Moseley and Associates, is facing a federal charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud arising from insurance claims after Hurricane Ida.
Federal court records indicate that Huye is scheduled for a September 28 rearraignment hearing, a procedure frequently associated with a defendant changing an earlier plea as part of a negotiated resolution.
Authorities allege that the broader scheme involved questionable arrangements for obtaining and controlling insurance claims belonging to Louisiana homeowners after the 2021 hurricane.
