Months after declaring her wanted, the EFCC has confirmed that Halimat Adenike Tejuosho is in custody over allegations connected with obtaining money by false pretence.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has confirmed the arrest of Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, suspended South-West Zonal Coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement.
EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale confirmed on Saturday that Tejuosho had been taken into custody on September 8.
The anti-graft commission had declared her wanted in April in connection with an investigation into alleged obtaining of money by false pretence.
The investigation followed complaints alleging that money was collected from individuals on representations that federal appointments and contracts could be secured for them.
The City Boy Movement subsequently suspended Tejuosho after the EFCC wanted notice. The organisation is a political advocacy group supportive of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The allegations remain under investigation and have not been established against Tejuosho by a court.
