The Nigeria Police Force has announced operational results across 10 states, including the rescue of seven persons and the arrest of at least 17 suspects in separate investigations.
The operations covered incidents recorded between September 21 and 22.
In Katsina State, police said officers foiled an armed attack on a vehicle carrying six female students of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma along the Kankara-Dutsin-Ma Road.
All seven occupants of the vehicle were rescued unhurt, according to the Force.
In Benue, police and other tactical personnel responded to an attack at Abeda Market in Logo Local Government Area, with police reporting that one suspected bandit was killed and two others arrested.
In Anambra State, police reported the arrest of four suspected members of an outlawed group during patrol operations at Okija.
Separate arrests were also reported in investigations involving suspected kidnapping in Nasarawa, firearm possession in Delta, alleged homicide in Cross River and Oyo, and an alleged defilement case in Ogun State.
The various cases have been transferred to relevant State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation.
The suspects remain legally presumed innocent unless and until their guilt is established before competent courts.
The spread of the operations across multiple states also demonstrates why arrest statistics alone do not constitute final criminal-justice outcomes. Investigations must still produce admissible evidence capable of sustaining charges and convictions.
