A shocking incident occurred in Iperu, Ogun State, where Sarah Ayinde allegedly set her husband, Abidemi Ayinde, a special constable with the Ogun State Police Command, ablaze after a minor disagreement.
The incident reportedly took place on December 12, 2024, at their residence on Igboore Street. Sources revealed that the altercation between the couple escalated, leading to the wife’s alleged retaliatory act.
“The victim, a police constable, was set on fire by his wife after an argument. He is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” a source told The PUNCH.
Police Confirm Incident
Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident on Sunday. She stated that the victim was rushed to Bolawatife Hospital, where he is now in stable condition.
“On December 12, 2024, at about 10:00 a.m., an attempted murder case was reported in Iperu. Sarah Ayinde set her husband, Abidemi Ayinde, ablaze following a minor disagreement. The suspect is currently at large, and a manhunt is ongoing. The division’s crime branch is actively investigating the case,” Odutola said.

As of now, the police have intensified efforts to apprehend Sarah Ayinde while ensuring the victim receives the necessary medical attention. The case has drawn public attention, sparking discussions about domestic violence and its devastating consequences.
