It was a moment of celebration and inspiration as Chief Paul Harris Ogbole, SAN, delivered a powerful lecture on the theme “Act Now for a Peaceful World: A Journey of Global Justice and Peace” during the 2025 International Day of Peace.
The event, organised by the Centre for Peace and Development Studies, Rev. Fr Moses Orshio Adasu University (formerly Benue State University), Makurdi, brought together lecturers, students, political leaders, traditional rulers, and other distinguished guests.
In his lecture, Chief Ogbole emphasized the urgent need for justice as the foundation of global peace, declaring that “there can be no peace without justice and fairness.” His message resonated strongly with the audience, inspiring a renewed commitment to peace-building at all levels of society.

The programme also featured a symbolic tree planting exercise, performed by the guest lecturer as a lasting reminder of growth, renewal, and the collective responsibility to nurture peace in the world.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution, the Centre for Peace and Development Studies presented Paul Harris Ogbole, SAN, with an Award of Recognition as a Distinguished Lecturer, underscoring his exemplary dedication to justice and peace advocacy.
