Newly elected General Council of the Bar (GCB) Representative, Bulus Yohanna Atsen, FSI, has expressed profound appreciation to members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for the confidence reposed in him during the 2026 NBA National Elections.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Atsen described his election as a collective victory, attributing his success to the unwavering support, prayers, encouragement, and votes of colleagues across Nigeria and in the diaspora. He pledged to honour the mandate with integrity, diligence, and a deep sense of responsibility.
The newly elected representative reaffirmed his commitment to delivering the Strategic Representation he promised during the campaign, built on three core priorities: strengthening the governance of legal practice, promoting strategic influence for the Bar, and establishing a transparent feedback mechanism between members and their representative.
Atsen assured NBA members that his service on the General Council of the Bar would remain guided by the Legal Practitioners Act, the Constitution of the Nigerian Bar Association, and the collective interests of the legal profession.

While acknowledging the challenges that characterised the electoral process, he urged members of the Bar to remain united and committed to strengthening the Association’s democratic institutions, noting that continuous reforms are essential to building a more credible and efficient electoral system.
He also congratulated all newly elected National Executive Committee members and fellow General Council of the Bar representatives, expressing optimism that the new leadership would work collaboratively to advance the legal profession and uphold the ideals of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Atsen concluded by thanking members once again for the privilege to serve, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him through purposeful, transparent, and strategic representation.
