The crossdresser’s arrest came on Monday night at the Seme border in Lagos by officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) as he allegedly attempted to leave the country. NIS spokesperson Kenneth Udo confirmed the arrest, referring to Bobrisky as “a person of interest” in their ongoing efforts to secure the country’s borders.

Bobrisky remains in detention as detectives continue investigating the circumstances surrounding his arrest. The FCID is currently seeking a remand order to extend his custody. A formal statement from the FCID is expected later today, providing further details on Bobrisky’s arrest and the investigation.
