Barr. Barth Okoye Aniche, a respected legal practitioner, public commentator, and passionate advocate for justice, has applauded the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos Branch, for its bold and historic step in organizing a peaceful protest march against the unlawful disregard of a subsisting court judgment and the violation of the fundamental rights of Vice Admiral Dada Olaniyi Labinjo (Rtd.) by the Nigerian Navy.
In a statement issued in support of the Branch, Aniche emphasised that this decisive action demonstrates the courage and vigilance of the Lagos Bar in upholding the Rule of Law and defending the dignity of the judiciary against blatant acts of impunity.
He commended the leadership of the Branch under its Chairman, Uchenna Ogunedo Akingbade, for galvanizing members to rise in solidarity with their colleague and in protection of the justice system itself. According to him, the initiative reflects the enduring spirit of the Bar to ensure that no institution of state, no matter how powerful, is permitted to trample upon the rights of citizens or undermine judicial authority.
“This protest is not just about Vice Admiral Labinjo,” Aniche stated. “It is about the integrity of our courts, the supremacy of the Rule of Law, and the defence of our democracy. I salute the Lagos Bar, and in particular, Chairman Uchenna Ogunedo Akingbade, for leading this noble cause at such a critical time.”
Barr. Aniche further called on all branches of the NBA across the country to emulate the Lagos Branch by showing similar resolve whenever the law is threatened, stressing that the Bar must remain the last bastion of justice and liberty in Nigeria.

Signed,
Barr. Barth Okoye Aniche
