Police commands in Lagos and Rivers states have announced separate operations targeting armed robbery and kidnapping.
In Lagos, the Violent Crime Response Unit arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate allegedly operating around Iju-Ishaga and Oke-Aro.
Police identified the suspects as Haruna Sheriff, Damilare Oluwatobi, Lekan Adenuga and David Balogun. A search of their alleged hideout in Idi-Oro, Mushin, reportedly produced 25 mobile phones, two laptops, jewellery and three cutlasses.
In Rivers State, police said operatives rescued a woman identified as Loveth, who was allegedly abducted outside her shop on September 2.
A 35-year-old suspect, Victor Ini, was arrested during the operation. Police reported recovering two locally made pistols, ammunition, a vehicle and other items.
Investigations into both cases are continuing as police seek other alleged members of the respective criminal networks.
