The Nigerian Police Force has arrested 35-year-old Ogaga Dickson, a suspected notorious armed robber and member of a deadly criminal syndicate in Delta State.
Ogaga is accused of killing Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Hassan Jega, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbarho Division, during a gun battle on October 14, 2024. The clash occurred when CSP Jega led a police operation to intercept the syndicate during one of their robbery attempts.

Speaking at the Police Headquarters on Monday, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed that the operation had earlier resulted in the neutralization of four gang members and the recovery of weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, an English pistol, a locally made pistol, various calibres of ammunition, and six exotic vehicles.

“On November 1, 2024, operatives of the FID-IRT arrested Ogaga Dickson, a member of a notorious armed robbery syndicate responsible for the death of CSP Hassan Jega,” Adejobi said.
He further stated that the police had raided the gang’s hideout, engaging them in a fierce gunfight that led to the neutralization of several gang members.

Recovered items during the operation included highly-powered firearms, ammunition, and stolen vehicles.
The arrest of Ogaga marks a significant step in the police’s ongoing efforts to dismantle organized crime networks and bring justice to victims of their activities.
