The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 26 foreign nationals for allegedly kidnapping a 30-year-old Ghanaian woman, Rigana Asuma, in the Isheri Osun area of Lagos.
According to intelligence reports, the police received a distress call around 9 pm on March 7, 2025, indicating that the victim was being held captive at No. 21 Yemi Ogunleye Street, Isheri Osun. A swift operation by a joint team of conventional police officers and tactical squads led to the successful rescue of the victim and the apprehension of 26 suspects—18 males and 8 females.
The arrested suspects include individuals from Ghana, Benin Republic, and Togo, raising concerns about the increasing involvement of foreign syndicates in criminal activities within Nigeria.

Among those arrested are:
- Benin Republic nationals: Tosin Janita (22), Destiny Nwande (23), Photun Shedeon (21), Shiclecke Qugan (23), Dancing Kosiana (21), Aikpon Allokpenouji (21), Dosa Kasun (23), Agbale Laisa (23), Djayoho Brice (26), Kpobadagi Sihou-Litono (21), Gansou Antoine (24), Adjakpa Akofa (25), Gakoto Jaslue (23), Samikpo Tcholiskoutou Lue (23), Lamh Con (22), and Djidenou Enok (24).
- Ghanaian nationals: Queen Akama (29), Quami Dankwa (28), Kosi Kwantin (21), Keep Plunta (24), Kofi Aspedu (29), and Awisi Henry (40).
- Togolese nationals: Susan Alopoti (22), Guriem Winamnadebu (37), and Mawusi Komi (24).
During the raid on the suspects’ hideout, police operatives recovered several incriminating items. All suspects have been taken into custody while investigations continue to uncover the full extent of their operations and identify potential accomplices.
