Femi confirmed that the individual accompanying Mark and the hotel receptionist were arrested by the Nigerian police. Fani-Kayode insisted on a thorough criminal investigation and an autopsy to determine the circumstances of Mark’s death.

“The entire hotel was also sealed by the police for two days, and the room in which he lodged remains sealed till today,” he noted. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Mark as “like a son” to him, and acknowledged the profound impact of his passing on his family and himself.

Fani-Kayode assured Mark’s wife, Barrister Patience Ndifreke-Mark, and his family that he would support them during this difficult time, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring justice is served if foul play is discovered.

“Mark was a kind, reliable, and compassionate soul who brought joy to many and who was incapable of hurting a fly,” he stated. Fani-Kayode thanked everyone who came to mourn with them and prayed for comfort for Mark’s family.

“May Ndifreke’s precious soul rest in peace,” he concluded.
