The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday dismissed a suit filed by MultiChoice Nigeria Limited seeking to restrain the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) from taking administrative action against it.
Delivering judgment, Justice James Omotosho held that the suit constituted an abuse of court process.
According to the Legallinkz.com MultiChoice—operators of DStv and GOtv—had recently increased subscription rates for its services. The price hike prompted an invitation from the FCCPC, which sought clarification and justification from the company.
Justice Omotosho had earlier issued an interim order barring the FCCPC from taking administrative steps against MultiChoice, following complaints by the company’s counsel, Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN. Onigbanjo informed the court that the Commission continued to issue threats and warnings despite pending litigation.

The suit, filed under FHC/ABJ/CS/379/2025, has now been dismissed, clearing the way for the FCCPC to proceed with any administrative review or action deemed necessary.
