To the Distinguished International President, Country Vice President, National Executive Council Members, delegates, and the entire FIDA Nigeria family,
As the FIDA Nigeria 2026 Second Quarter National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting commences today, I extend my warmest goodwill and solidarity to every member gathered for this important national engagement.
It is a privilege for our dear FIDA Abuja Branch to host this significant meeting. I warmly welcome all delegates to the Federal Capital Territory and wish everyone a rewarding and memorable stay.
The theme, “Strengthening Women’s Representation in Democratic Governance: Law, Policy and Practice,” is both timely and compelling. It reminds us of our shared responsibility as women lawyers to champion policies, advocate for inclusive governance, and strengthen the legal frameworks that promote the participation and leadership of women at every level of decision-making.

I sincerely commend our Branch Chairperson, the Executive Committee, and the Local Organising Committee for their commitment, sacrifice, and meticulous planning in making this gathering a reality.
As deliberations begin at Sandralia Hotel, Jabi, Abuja, it is my earnest hope that this NEC meeting will produce meaningful resolutions, inspire renewed commitment, and strengthen our collective resolve to advance the rights, representation, and leadership of women across Nigeria.
To every member of the National Executive Council and all delegates, thank you for your dedication and service to FIDA Nigeria. Your contributions continue to shape the future of our Association and the women and communities we serve.
I wish you all a successful, productive, and impactful NEC meeting.
Audrey Chinelo Ofoegbunam
