Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore condemned the planned re-arrest, urging the police to vacate the court premises and respect due process.

Seaking was initially arrested in December 2024 for videos critical of President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. He faced charges including cyberstalking, treason, and conduct likely to breach public peace.

In February 2025, he was re-arrested during a separate court appearance and taken to Abuja, following a petition allegedly submitted by Paul James Adama on behalf of a Christian group supporting Pastor Adeboye.
