Details of the Arrest Warrant

The arrest order followed an ex parte motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). During the hearing, Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari, representing the EFCC, moved the application under Section 35(1)(c) of the 1999 Constitution and relevant provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.

Buhari requested the court to issue a warrant compelling Onyedikachukwu’s appearance to face criminal charges. She further indicated that if the EFCC failed to arrest the manager, a public summons declaring him wanted would be issued.

Allegations Against the Manager

The EFCC’s application was supported by an affidavit detailing a petition filed by Mercy Chinwo. According to the affidavit, Chinwo accused her manager of misappropriating royalties from her digital platforms and events without proper disclosure. She alleged that Onyedikachukwu diverted approximately $345,000, failing to remit her share of the earnings.

EFCC’s Challenges in Apprehending the Manager

The anti-graft agency disclosed that efforts to apprehend Onyedikachukwu had been unsuccessful, prompting the need for the court’s intervention.

Justice Owoeye granted the EFCC’s request and scheduled January 24, 2025, for the manager’s arraignment. If the EFCC continues to face difficulties in locating the manager, a public declaration of his wanted status will follow.
