The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, has tragically passed away, weeks after being involved in a severe road accident.
Oluwatuyi, a respected public servant and key figure in the state administration, died on Saturday, January 4, 2025, while undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in the accident. The accident occurred along the Ife-Ibadan Road on December 15, 2024, leaving him hospitalized until his demise.
In an official statement, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Wale Akinlosotu, expressed profound sadness over the loss, describing Oluwatuyi as a dedicated and impactful leader.
“It is with profound sadness that the Government of Ondo State announces the passing of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, Secretary to the State Government, on January 4, 2025,” the statement read.
The commissioner highlighted Oluwatuyi’s illustrious career, noting his significant contributions to the state’s development. He served in various capacities, including as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and twice as Secretary to the State Government.
Oluwatuyi was praised for his unwavering commitment to administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation, which left an indelible mark on the governance and progress of Ondo State.
“The Government of Ondo State extends its deepest condolences to the Oluwatuyi family of Akure, friends, and associates during this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
