According to Idris, a committee has been established to review the circumstances of their arrest and detention, ensuring their prompt reunification with families across the country.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the directive, adding that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs has been tasked with overseeing the safe return of all affected to their families.

Furthermore, the Attorney General of the Federation has been instructed to expedite all necessary legal measures for the children’ release.

Last week, the Nigeria Police presented several protesters, including very young teens, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

During the court session, four of the minors reportedly collapsed, prompting widespread calls from human rights advocates for the protection and swift release of all detained children. The court granted bail to 72 defendants, removing the ailing minors from the charge list.
