After enduring an agonizing 10 months in captivity, Dr. Popoola was finally released, as confirmed by Dr. Omoha Amobi, Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

Expressing profound relief, Dr. Amobi shared, “The president of NARD, Dr. Osundara Tope Zenith, is filled with immense joy and relief to inform you that Dr. Ganiyat Popoola, our dear colleague from the National Eye Centre in Kaduna, has been released and reunited with her family.”
