Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has denied involvement in an alleged $2.1 million Abuja land transaction now before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.
Jordan, who is a lawyer, told Justice Sylvanus Oriji that he neither received money from the claimants nor signed the document being relied upon in the suit.
The action, marked CV/008/2026, was instituted by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited.
The claimants allege that they engaged Jordan to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape, Abuja. They further allege that $2.1 million was paid in connection with the proposed transaction. Jordan has denied those allegations. Premium Times Nigeria
Passport tendered in court
During cross-examination, Jordan told the court that he was outside Nigeria on September 26, 2025, the date the claimants say the money was handed to him.
He said he travelled with his American passport.
Following an application by counsel to the claimants, the court directed him to produce the passport. He subsequently complied, and the document was admitted in evidence.
Jordan also denied knowing persons said to have been connected with the alleged transaction and maintained that the signature appearing on a document relied upon by the claimants was not his.
The claimants’ counsel had earlier obtained permission for Jordan to write his name and signature several times in court as part of the evidential process.
Trial continues in December
Justice Oriji adjourned further hearing to December 1, 2 and 14, 2026.
The court has not made any finding that Jordan received the alleged $2.1 million, nor has it determined that the disputed signature was forged. Those issues remain part of the evidence to be resolved at trial.
