The Immediate Past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Sokoto Branch, Rashidat Mohammed, Esq., has called on members of the Association to put the recently concluded NBA national elections behind them and unite in the interest of a stronger and more progressive Bar.
Mohammed congratulated the President-Elect, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, on her historic victory and commended all the contestants for their courage, sacrifice and commitment to serving the Association.
She urged the contestants and their supporters to join hands with the President-Elect, stressing that the challenges confronting the legal profession require collaboration rather than division.
According to her, a united Bar will be better positioned to promote lawyers’ welfare, uphold the rule of law and preserve the ideals of the legal profession.
“The election is over; now the work of building a greater Nigerian Bar Association begins,” she stated.
Mohammed called on members to move forward as one Bar, united in purpose and committed to the common good.
