As the world marks the International Day of the Girl Child, Prof. Foluke Dada-Lawanson, FICMC, FCMC, FFIS, MNIM, MCArb, ABR, has called for renewed commitment to empowering girls through education, self-awareness, and holistic well-being.

In a heartfelt message, Prof. Dada-Lawanson emphasized that “progress begins when every girl is seen, heard, and supported to thrive in every sphere of life.”

She noted that empowerment must go beyond access and education, extending to nurturing wholeness, ensuring that every girl grows “in strength, in mind, and in purpose.”

Highlighting the importance of mental and physical wellness, she urged that girls be taught early that “caring for their health and their minds is a sign of strength, not weakness.”

She also stressed the need for inclusive policies that make women’s voices integral to governance and national development.

“The girl child of today is the woman leader of tomorrow,” she stated, adding that giving girls the tools, space, and encouragement to lead will help build a future grounded in compassion, excellence, and purpose.

Prof. Dada-Lawanson concluded with an inspiring message to girls everywhere: “Your voice matters, your dreams are valid, and your presence is powerful. Keep learning, keep growing, and keep believing in what is possible.”
