Governor Makinde Vows Justice and Commences Investigations

In a press statement shared on his X profile, Governor Makinde confirmed the multiple fatalities and injuries. He reassured the public that all involved in organising the event would be held accountable. The statement detailed immediate steps taken by the government, including deploying security personnel to restore order, medical teams to assist victims, and halting the event.

Governor Makinde also conveyed heartfelt condolences to the grieving families, stating, “This is a very sad day for us in Oyo State. We sympathise with the parents whose joy has turned to mourning. Investigations are ongoing, and anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law.”

Makinde concluded by urging calm and promising thorough justice, adding, “Our hearts remain with the families impacted by this tragedy. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.”
