Okey Ohagba 2026 message:
Beloved colleagues and friends,
Former National Officer of the Nigerian Bar Association, Okey Leo Ohagba, Esq., has extended a warm and forward-looking New Year message to members of the legal profession, expressing deep appreciation for the bonds shared in the past year while setting a bold tone for 2026 as a year of innovation and purposeful exploits.
In his message titled “Thank You for the Love of Yesteryear, Welcome to Twenty Twenty-Six of Innovative Exploits,” Ohagba thanked colleagues for the love, warmth, and camaraderie that defined the previous year. He expressed optimism that professional relationships and friendships within the Bar would continue to grow stronger in 2026 and beyond, anchored on deeper unity and more meaningful collaboration.

As the new year unfolds against the backdrop of a pivotal election season, Ohagba noted that the period presents both immense challenges and profound opportunities for the Nigerian Bar Association and the legal profession at large. He called for divine wisdom to guide decisions and choices, stressing that the honour and nobility of the Bar are preserved through character, restraint, and selfless service.
Gratitude for the Past, Vision for the Future
Welcoming members into what he described as “2026 of Innovative Exploits,” Ohagba urged lawyers to embrace creativity, reform, and forward-thinking solutions, declaring that the time to innovate is now.
“Innovation is the bridge between where we are and where we must be,” he noted, adding that,
“A new year is not just a change of date, but an invitation to rise with new ideas, renewed courage, and a clearer sense of purpose.”
He further reminded members that:
“The future of the Bar belongs to those bold enough to imagine it and disciplined enough to build it.”
Ohagba concluded his message with a call to action, encouraging members to step into 2026 with confidence, unity, and an innovative spirit, while wishing the entire Bar a fulfilling and successful New Year.
Signed:
