Candidate for the office of NBA National Welfare Secretary, Audrey Chinelo Ofoegbunam, has announced the commencement of a weekly educational session aimed at helping lawyers better understand and access the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Group Health Insurance Scheme.

The initiative, titled “NHIS Unpacked by Audrey,” will hold every Monday at 7:00 p.m. on X (formerly Twitter). The interactive session is designed to simplify the NBA Group Health Insurance Scheme by explaining members’ healthcare benefits, enrollment procedures, eligibility requirements, and other essential details.

According to Audrey Ofoegbunam, every member of the Nigerian Bar Association has a right to quality healthcare through the Association’s Group Health Insurance Scheme, and no lawyer should be left behind due to a lack of information or understanding of the process.

She explained that the weekly sessions will provide practical guidance, answer members’ questions, clarify common misconceptions, and make enrollment easier for lawyers across the country.

The programme is open to all categories of legal practitioners, including newly called lawyers, Senior Advocates and experienced practitioners, lawyers in active practice, retired members of the Bar, and lawyers living with disabilities.

Audrey noted that the NBA’s commitment to the welfare of its members must translate into practical access to healthcare, adding that the initiative is intended to ensure every lawyer can fully benefit from the Association’s health insurance scheme.

As part of her campaign for the office of NBA National Welfare Secretary, she called on members of the Bar to support her vision for a more inclusive and accessible welfare system and appealed for their votes in the forthcoming NBA National Elections.
