NBA-SPIDEL Extends 2026 Conference Early Bird Registration to October 14

The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law, NBA-SPIDEL, has extended the Early Bird registration deadline for its 2026 Annual Conference from September 30 to October 14, 2026.

Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, Sir Ejike Ezenwa, SAN, said the extension followed strong interest from intending participants, particularly those who had been unable to complete their registration before the original deadline.

The 2026 NBA-SPIDEL Annual Conference is scheduled to hold from November 9 to November 13 at the International Conference Centre in Umuahia, Abia State.

According to the organisers, the additional two-week window is intended to enable more lawyers, public-interest practitioners, activists, development professionals and institutional delegates to access the discounted registration category.

Group registration introduced

NBA-SPIDEL has also introduced a discounted Group Registration package for members and non-members.

The arrangement is expected to benefit law firms, civil society organisations, institutions and other groups intending to attend the conference collectively.

The annual conference is expected to focus on contemporary issues affecting public interest law, governance, accountability, constitutional rights and national development.

Over the years, SPIDEL has emerged as one of the NBA’s key platforms for addressing matters that sit at the intersection of law, governance and citizens’ rights.

The organisers said delegates will also have an opportunity to participate in a guided tour of selected tourist attractions in Abia State, providing an informal component alongside the conference’s substantive programme.

Registration window now closes October 14

With the extension, prospective delegates now have until October 14 to take advantage of the Early Bird rate before standard registration arrangements take effect.

The planning committee has urged intending participants not to wait until the final day before completing registration.

For lawyers working in public interest litigation, human rights, development policy and governance reform, the conference is expected to offer both professional-development and networking opportunities.
