In commemoration of the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Ebonyi State Branch embarked on a sensitization visit to the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Ezzamgbo.
The visit formed part of FIDA’s ongoing commitment to promote the rights, confidence, and wellbeing of young girls across the state.
During the interactive session, the FIDA Ebonyi team engaged the students on critical topics including the Rights of the Girl Child, Peer Pressure and Its Negative Effects, and Building Confidence as a Tool to Overcome Gender-Based Violence.
The discussions were practical and enlightening, aimed at equipping the students with knowledge to make informed choices and stand firm against societal challenges.

The Vice Principal (Academics) of the school, Mrs. Olebuike A. C., who warmly received the delegation, expressed deep appreciation for FIDA’s impactful outreach.
She commended the organization for its continuous advocacy for women and children’s rights in Ebonyi State and requested that such visits become a monthly exercise to further inspire and guide the students.
The students, visibly inspired by the session, thanked FIDA Ebonyi for the visit and pledged to apply the lessons learned in their daily lives.
The sensitization program reflects FIDA Ebonyi’s dedication to nurturing empowered, informed, and confident girls, future women leaders who will shape society with courage and purpose.
