The newly elected Executive Council of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Dutse Branch, Jigawa State, paid a courtesy visit to the NBA President, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, at the NBA Headquarters on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
The delegation, led by the newly elected Branch Chairman, Garba Hamza Umaru, Esq., was received warmly by the NBA President. The visit serves as a traditional but crucial first step for new branch executives, allowing them to formally introduce their team and seek counsel and partnership from the national leadership.

During the interactive session, Mr Umaru is understood to have outlined the key mandates of his new administration, focusing primarily on members’ welfare, continuous legal education, and improving the relationship between the Bar and the Bench in Jigawa State.
The engagement underscored the importance of grassroots structures in achieving the overall objectives of the NBA. By directly meeting with the president, the Dutse Branch secured an opportunity to highlight the unique operational challenges and opportunities within their jurisdiction, ensuring that the national body’s policies are tailored to address diverse needs across the country.

Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, is reported to have congratulated the Dutse Exco on their successful election, emphasising that the strength of the NBA is derived from the vitality and professionalism of its branches.
