The 2025 Law Week of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Makurdi Branch brought together distinguished legal minds for a week of reflection, discourse, and professional development.
Themed “Law Practice in a Volatile Legal Landscape: Evolving Trends and Coping Strategies,” the event addressed the rapid changes shaping the legal profession—ranging from technological disruption and evolving regulations to the importance of resilience and innovation among practitioners.
Throughout the week, participants engaged in impactful sessions designed to equip lawyers with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of modern legal practice. The event culminated in a well-attended dinner featuring entertainment, camaraderie, and celebration of legal excellence.
A highlight of the evening was the special recognition of Chief Paul Harris Ogbole, SAN, for his outstanding contributions and unwavering support to the Makurdi Bar.
In his remarks, Chief Ogbole emphasised the pivotal role of the Makurdi Branch in Nigeria’s justice delivery system and pledged his continued support and identification with the Branch’s mission and progress.
Chief Ogbole is the Principal Partner at P.H. Ogbole (SAN) & Co., Abuja. He obtained his LL.B. from the University of Jos in 1988, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989, and earned an LL.M. from the same university in 2008.
Over the years, he has held notable positions, including Chairman of Otukpo Local Government, Member of the EFCC Board, and Co-Chair of various NBA Committees on Discipline and Anti-Corruption. In 2019, he was deservedly elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Beyond legal advocacy, Chief Ogbole is renowned for his mentorship of young lawyers. In April 2025, he sponsored 50 young lawyers to attend the NBA Section on Legal Practice (NBA-SLP) Conference—a gesture that reflects his commitment to nurturing the next generation of legal professionals.
His recognition by the NBA Makurdi Branch underscores a career defined by service, mentorship, and an enduring commitment to justice and the advancement of the legal profession in Nigeria.
