Lagos, Nigeria – July 3, 2025 —
In a powerful gathering of thought leaders and governance experts, Prof. Foluke Dada-Lawanson, Chair of the Lawyers in Academia Forum and Past 2nd Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association (2018–2020), participated in the SCGN Members Fireside Chat hosted by the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria.
The event, themed “Governance from the Inside Out: Well-being, Ethics, and Sustainable Leadership”, delved into the evolving expectations of leadership in today’s complex world, highlighting the need for internal accountability, personal wellness, and principled decision-making in both public and private sectors.
“The theme was not only timely but essential—especially in today’s leadership landscape, where integrity and self-awareness matter more than ever,” Prof. Dada-Lawanson noted.
She extended her appreciation to Dr Fatoumata Soukououna Coker for her practical insights and to Mr Taiwo Adesina Joda for moderating the conversation with clarity and depth.
“I’m always glad to be part of conversations that focus on the real work of leadership and responsibility,” she added.
The Fireside Chat forms part of SCGN’s ongoing efforts to foster a new wave of ethical, transparent, and self-aware leadership across Nigeria’s corporate and governance landscape.
