Renowned legal luminary and former National Officer of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Barth Okoye Aniche, Esq., has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, on his recent appointment as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a goodwill message personally signed by him, Mr. Aniche described Prof. Amupitan’s appointment as “a well-deserved recognition of excellence, integrity, and service to the nation.” He commended the Senior Advocate’s unwavering commitment to the rule of law, scholarship, and public service, noting that his elevation to the helm of INEC reflects the government’s confidence in his capability to strengthen Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
“Prof. Amupitan’s record of leadership, intellectual depth, and ethical fortitude stands as a testament to his readiness for this great responsibility. I do not doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience, fairness, and moral clarity to bear in advancing credible, transparent, and technology-driven electoral processes,” Aniche said.
He further prayed that God would grant the new INEC Chairman divine wisdom, courage, and guidance to discharge his duties diligently and to uphold the trust reposed in him by Nigerians.

“May your tenure mark a new dawn in our electoral system — one defined by transparency, accountability, and enduring faith in democracy,” he added.
