A 19-year-old housewife, Aisha Musa, has been taken into police custody in Bauchi State following allegations that she attempted to murder her newlywed husband by poisoning his food.
According to reports obtained by LegalLinkz Blog, the incident occurred in Gwamma Village, located within the Bauchi Local Government Area. Aisha, who had been married for approximately 40 days, allegedly introduced a toxic substance into her husband’s meal on the afternoon of August 12, 2026.
Police Intervention and Emergency Response
The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the arrest through a statement issued by its spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, on behalf of Police Commissioner Sani-Omolori Aliyu.

Time of Incident: August 12, 2026, at approximately 3:15 PM. Distress Call: Received around 7:40 PM from an anonymous caller residing in the Wunti Dada area of Bauchi. Immediate Action: Operatives from the ‘C’ Division, Tafawa Balewa Estate, responded swiftly to the scene and evacuated the victim to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi.
Medical officials have confirmed that the victim is currently receiving treatment and remains in stable condition.
Suspect Confesses, Investigation Ongoing
Following her arrest, police reported that Aisha Musa voluntarily admitted to committing the crime during interrogation. Detectives recovered an empty bottle suspected to have held the poisonous substance, as well as remnants of the poisoned meal, which have been logged as evidence.
LegalLinkz Blog understands that Police Commissioner Sani-Omolori Aliyu has ordered the immediate transfer of the case file to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a full and discreet investigation. Upon completion of the probe, the suspect is expected to face formal legal charges in court.
