In his remarks, he noted that the conference was thoughtfully designed to expose students and the wider university community to the opportunities presented by digital assets and digital access. He emphasized that the conversations were framed to address critical questions shaping the future of trade in Nigeria, such as:

What are the implications for contract law in a borderless digital marketplace?

How should the legal community navigate emerging concerns around data privacy, intellectual property rights, and cybersecurity?

How can Nigeria’s legal and regulatory frameworks evolve to support inclusive digital trade while mitigating risks such as cyber threats and digital divides?

Chief Obegolu stressed that these questions lie at the heart of the conference theme, calling on participants to interrogate how the law can protect consumers, promote innovation, and ensure equitable participation in the digital economy. He maintained that legal frameworks must adapt with foresight to guarantee sustainable growth and fair access in a rapidly digitizing commercial environment.
