I wholeheartedly applaud the visionary leadership of our President, Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN, for placing the NBA Human Rights Institute under the oversight of our NBA Vice Presidents. This is a strategic and inspiring move that demonstrates his unwavering dedication to justice and human rights.
As a member of FIDA Nigeria, Rivers State Branch since 2005, I have long been involved in defending the vulnerable and amplifying marginalised voices. That experience has sharpened my resolve to pursue justice with passion and purpose.
I pledge my full commitment to collaborating closely with the current Vice Presidents — Sabastine Anyia (1st Vice-President) -Chairman, Bolatumi Olasunbo Animashaun (2nd Vice-President)- Deputy Chairman, and Zainab Aminu Garba (3rd Vice-President)- Secretary, to actualise the goals of the NBA-HRI.
I call on all members of the Nigerian Bar Association, young and senior alike, to join this vital movement. Together, under the leadership of our President and Vice Presidents, we can ensure that the defense of human rights in Nigeria becomes more than aspiration; it becomes reality.
