The Suleja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (popularly known as the Zuma Bar), under the leadership of its Chairman, Abdullahi Liman, and with the guidance of revered Silks, the Bar Leader, Deputy Bar Leader, respected Seniors, and dedicated members of the Executive Committee, has unveiled clear resolutions on members’ contributions toward the long-awaited Branch Bar House Project.
At the Branch’s monthly meetings held in July and August 2025, members unanimously mandated the Executive Committee (EXCO) to devise sustainable strategies for raising funds to actualize the Bar House dream. In line with this mandate, the EXCO convened several deliberations and resolved to pursue a dual strategy of internal and external fundraising.
External Mobilisation
Efforts are already underway to secure financial and material support from the Niger State Government, eminent and accomplished members of the legal profession, as well as philanthropic individuals outside the Bar.
Internal Contributions
For internal mobilisation, the EXCO has approved a contribution levy structure tied to members’ years of call, with flexibility for higher voluntary donations. The agreed schedule is as follows:

- 0–4 years at the Bar – ₦7,000
- 5–9 years at the Bar – ₦15,000
- 10–15 years at the Bar – ₦30,000
- 16–20 years at the Bar – ₦50,000
- 21–25 years at the Bar – ₦70,000
- 26 years & above – ₦100,000
Members are encouraged to make their contributions on or before the end of October 2025, to enable construction work to commence in earnest, guided by the 3D architectural design already prepared. Contributions are to be paid into the Branch’s official account, with receipts forwarded to the Chairman for formal acknowledgment.
Purpose and Benefits of the Bar House
According to the Branch leadership, the Bar House is more than a building—it is a legacy project designed to:
- Project the image and prestige of the Zuma Bar among peer branches nationwide;
- Serve as a permanent home for branch activities and events, thereby reducing recurrent rental costs;
- Provide an additional source of revenue through dignified ventures such as renting out its auditorium for events, in compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct (RPC), 2023;
- Enhance welfare opportunities for branch members.
Acknowledgment of Stakeholders
The Chairman expressed deep appreciation to the Branch Bar House Committee, ably chaired by Hon. Abdullahi Bawa, former Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, for its invaluable collaboration with the EXCO in driving this project.
In his remarks, Chairman Abdullahi Liman urged members to see the Bar House project as a collective responsibility:
“This project will not only solve our financial challenges but will also stand as a testament to our unity and vision. We are stronger when we do it together.”
With this call to action, the Zuma Bar is poised to transform its vision into a tangible legacy—one that will serve present members and future generations.

Long live the Zuma Bar!
Signed:
Abdullahi Liman
Chairman, NBA Suleja Branch (Zuma Bar)
