Respected legal practitioner and former Vice-Chair of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch, Abiye Tam-George, has formally announced his candidacy for the position of Chairman of the Branch.
In a message addressed to learned silks, elders, seniors, and colleagues within the legal community, Tam-George outlined his vision for a vibrant, inclusive, and accountable NBA Lagos.
A former Chair of the Human Rights Committee of the Branch, Tam-George, brings a record of service and principled leadership to his campaign. He pledged to restore integrity to the branch’s affairs, prioritise member welfare, and strengthen the legal community through progressive policies anchored on professional excellence.
“I am committed to fostering a branch that upholds transparency, champions members’ interests, and sets a standard of excellence for others to follow,” he stated, calling on colleagues for their support and votes to bring his vision to fruition.

Tam-George’s declaration has sparked interest across the legal community in Lagos, as members anticipate a competitive election season that could reshape the direction of one of Nigeria’s most influential NBA branches.
