The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the tragic killing of a female banker, identified as Ifeoma, by suspected kidnappers, despite her family paying an undisclosed ransom for her release.

Ifeoma was reportedly abducted in Onitsha, a bustling commercial hub, and held captive for several days. Her kidnappers demanded a ransom, which her family paid in the hope of securing her freedom. Sadly, her lifeless body was discovered near Ideani Junction, along the Nnobi-Alor Road in Idemili South Local Government Area.
A family source revealed that the kidnappers may have killed her to conceal their identities, as she might have recognized them. “The family is devastated by this tragic loss,” the source stated.

Rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu took to social media to decry the ongoing spate of violence, saying:
“Lives are being taken daily, and it’s sad nothing is being done to end these killings. WHO IS NEXT? If we keep folding our hands and do nothing, it may get to you.”
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating:
“The command was alerted about the discovery of a female corpse along the Nnobi-Alor Road, allegedly discarded by suspected kidnappers. The body has been recovered, and photos have been circulated as part of the ongoing investigation.”
The case has sparked widespread outrage and calls for intensified efforts by security agencies to combat kidnapping and restore public safety in the region.
