Omowunmi, widow of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), has accused her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of evading a court-ordered DNA test to resolve a paternity dispute over her son.
The Ikorodu Magistrates Court, Lagos State, had earlier directed alternative dispute resolution during its July 9, 2024, session. However, discussions failed to yield results.

Joseph Aloba, who initiated the DNA test request, reportedly refused Omowunmi’s suggested laboratories (Eko Hospital and Reddington Hospital) after she rejected his preference for UCH Ibadan.
In a January 9, 2025, letter from Omowunmi’s legal representatives, Salawu Akingbolu Chambers, her counsel accused Aloba of stalling. The letter expressed disappointment over his silence and alleged public misrepresentation by his lawyer, demanding an apology for defamation.
Omowunmi also accused her father-in-law of maligning her son on social media and warned of conducting the DNA test independently if delays persist.

In a response dated January 11, 2025, Aloba’s legal team denied the allegations and clarified that public comments by their representative were misinterpreted. They also announced their withdrawal from the case.
