He urged all stakeholders to harness the power of Nigeria’s youth in the fight against corruption, emphasizing that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow but also active change-makers today.

Empowering Youth for Integrity

The NBA President stressed the importance of equipping the younger generation with the necessary tools, knowledge, and mentorship to lead a nationwide campaign against corruption. He proposed the establishment of youth-focused anti-corruption platforms, mentorship programs, and educational campaigns designed to raise awareness of the social and economic impacts of corruption.

Corruption thrives where there is ignorance and complicity. To break this cycle, we must empower our youth to not only resist but to actively combat corruption in their communities,” Mazi Osigwe said.

Call for Cross-Sector Collaboration

Recognizing the complexity of corruption, Mazi Osigwe called for collaboration between government, private sector stakeholders, civil society organizations, and the legal profession. He emphasized that a united approach would create a robust framework for detecting, preventing, and punishing corrupt practices.

NBA’s Commitment

Mazi Osigwe reaffirmed the NBA’s dedication to fostering transparency and accountability within Nigeria. He revealed plans to collaborate with educational institutions, develop anti-corruption advocacy programs, and promote public interest litigation aimed at exposing and addressing corruption cases.

As part of the celebration, the NBA is also preparing a youth-led anti-corruption initiative that will include workshops, legal clinics, and policy dialogues, ensuring sustained advocacy and action against corruption.
