Kano Governor Yusuf Accuses Protesters Of Stealing Documents From Ex-Gov Ganduje’s Corruption Trial

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has reported that violent protesters seized all documents related to the corruption cases filed against the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, which were being held at the State High Court.

Yusuf raised alarm over the mysterious removal of case files related to corruption charges against former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje from the State High Court.

Yusuf, in a statement through his spokesperson, Mr Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, expressed concern over the issue.

He disclosed this following an assessment visit to the court on Wednesday, where Governor Yusuf was briefed by the Attorney General, Chief Registrar, and other High Court judges.

The governor expressed deep concern and frustration over the incident, which has sparked questions about the integrity of the legal process.

He described the vandalism as a sophisticated and premeditated act, where orchestrated thieves targeted and stole sensitive documents related to the ongoing corruption cases against former Kano Governor Ganduje, who is currently facing multiple charges in the state High Court.

Yusuf said, “It is very unfortunate that enemies of Kano State hired undesirable elements to vandalise one of the historic public buildings with a mission of averting corruption charges against the Ag. National Chairman of APC and former governor of the state Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his family and aides.

“The miscreants destroyed virtually all units of the High Court including the office of the state Chief Judge with a loss of more than one billion naira through the stealing of office equipment, destroying offices, burning cars and other relevant materials crucial to the dispensation of justice.”

Yusuf urged Kano State youths to resist being exploited by detractors to engage in violence, instead focusing on acquiring skills for a brighter future.

He reassured the public that the government is committed to protecting lives and property.

The governor emphasised the judiciary’s crucial role as the common man’s last hope and ordered the immediate renovation of the damaged building and deployment of robust security measures to ensure uninterrupted justice delivery.
