I extend my warm felicitations to the Muhammad Usman-led Executive Committee, the Planning Committee, and the entire members of the NBA Young Lawyers’ Forum (YLF), Birnin-Kebbi Branch, on the occasion of your Mentorship & Chat Day 2025.
The decision to host this programme as a maiden initiative speaks volumes about the vision, foresight, and commitment of the Branch leadership to purposeful professional development.
Your chosen theme, “Unlock Your Legal Potentials: Tapping from Mentors’ Knowledge, Skills and Experiences,” is both timely and forward-looking, addressing the urgent need for guidance, capacity building, and skills transfer among young lawyers.
From my experience within the Bar, structured mentorship remains one of the most effective tools for transmitting institutional knowledge, sharpening professional judgment, and nurturing ethical, innovative, and resilient practitioners.
By bringing together mentors from diverse areas of legal practice, the Birnin-Kebbi YLF has created a platform that promotes excellence, growth, and sustainability within our profession.
I particularly commend the leadership of the Branch for recognising that the future of the Bar is secured not merely by numbers, but by intentional investment in people, ideas, and values.
