The Nigerian Armed Forces have enacted strict regulations prohibiting military personnel from engaging in activities deemed unethical or unbecoming of their position.
These regulations, signed by President Bola Tinubu in December 2024, include bans on homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, cross-dressing, body piercing, tattooing, and disorderly conduct.

- Homosexuality & Cross-Dressing: Military officers are prohibited from engaging in homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, and cross-dressing, as well as from affiliating with LGBTQIA2S+ groups.
- Body Piercing & Tattooing: Officers are barred from any form of body piercing or tattooing.
- Conduct & Discipline: The regulations stress maintaining discipline, forbidding disorderly behavior, drunkenness, and amorous relationships with subordinates or fellow officers’ spouses.
- Financial & Social Responsibilities: Officers are also required to fulfill financial obligations, including timely vehicle insurance and licensing, and are banned from secret societies or political party affiliations.
