The Executive Members of FIDA Rivers organized a three-day retreat from January 10th to 12th, 2025. The aim was to foster unity, enhance excellence, and position the Association for impactful service delivery in the New Year.
The retreat, facilitated by Mrs. Evelyn Membere-Asimiea, Mrs. Mercy Hirse-Damina, and Mrs. T. Life-George, successfully achieved its objectives, bringing together executive members and staff for reflection, strategic planning, and bonding.

Day 1: Friday, January 10, 2025
The retreat commenced with the arrival of participants at 1:00 p.m. The Chairperson welcomed members at 3:30 p.m., followed by an introductory session.
The keynote session, titled “Roles and Teamwork for Exco” by Mrs. Evelyn Membere-Asimiea, emphasized the importance of understanding the designation, roles, and responsibilities of each officer as a foundation for a successful tenure. She highlighted teamwork and collaboration as critical to achieving excellence.
The day concluded with dinner and a closed executive meeting, allowing the leadership team to discuss strategic goals.

Day 2: Saturday, January 11, 2025
The second day began with breakfast at 8:00 a.m., followed by prayers led by the Assistant Publicity Secretary.
An insightful session, “FIDA Nigeria Style of Reporting for Various Offices,” was delivered by Mrs. Mercy Hirse-Damina at 9:00 a.m. This was followed by a collaborative session on developing the association’s Annual Work Plan and conducting a SWOT analysis, facilitated by Mrs. Evelyn Membere-Asimiea.
After lunch, participants reviewed the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) during a general meeting involving executive members and staff. The day concluded with the finalization of the work plan, a Suya Night, and games, fostering camaraderie among participants.
Day 3: Sunday, January 12, 2025
The final day began with prayers at 8:00 a.m. led by Mrs. Evelyn Membere-Asimiea. This was followed by a brief workshop on the importance of protocol and structure at the FIDA Centre.
A second meeting between staff and Exco members at 11:00 a.m. detailed the plans and laid out the roadmap for 2025.
At 12:15 p.m., a closed-door executive meeting aligned the organization’s priorities and operational strategies for 2025. The retreat officially concluded at 1:00 p.m., with participants departing shortly afterward.
