As we embark on this new chapter, I wish to remind all lawyers enrolled at the Supreme Court of Nigeria that the annual Bar Practicing Fee (BPF) is now due for payment. The payment window runs from January 1, 2025, to March 31, 2025.
Why Pay Your BPF on Time?
Prompt payment of the BPF comes with numerous benefits, including:
1. Insurance Coverage: Enjoy a Leadway Assurance Scheme with coverage of over ₦2,000,000.
2. National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS): Gain access to healthcare privileges under the NHIS.
3. Professional Growth: Eligibility to apply for the Notary Public status and the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) rank.
4. Electoral Rights: Participate in and contest NBA and Branch elections.
5. Good Standing: Obtain a letter of good standing and other professional perks.
BPF Fees (Based on Year of Call):
• Senior Advocates & Honorable Benchers: ₦50,000
• 15+ Years Post-Call: ₦25,000
• 10-14 Years Post-Call: ₦17,500
• 5-9 Years Post-Call: ₦10,000
• 1-4 Years Post-Call: ₦5,000
Payment Options:
Payments must be made through the NBA Portal, and both individual and group payment options are available.
How to Pay Your BPF (Individual Payment):
- Visit the NBA Portal.
- Click on “Log in” with your login details i.e. Enrollment No (SCN), Email Address and Password.” and Click on Login
- On the dashboard Click on “Payment” and Select “BPF Payment”
- Choose the individual payment option.
- Follow the prompts to complete your payment and download your receipt in PDF format.
How to Pay for Groups:
- Visit the NBA Portal.
- Click on“Log in” with your login details i.e. Enrollment No (SCN), Email Address and Password.” and Click Login
- Choose the “Group Payment” option, input the initiator’s details by adding their enrollment No (SCN), and select the popup name, you can only add up to 25 members.
- Follow the prompts to complete the payment. Receipts will be sent to all individual emails and the initiator’s email.
