On Thursday, 8th May 2025, members of the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF), Enugu Branch, undertook a condolence visit to Oroku, Nkanu East Local Government Area, to attend the burial ceremony of the beloved mother of our dear sister and State Lead, Barrister Amaka Umeh.
A delegation of NBAWF members, led by the National Treasurer, Barr. Ngozi Onyia, assembled promptly at the High Court premises in Enugu by 8:30 a.m.. Dressed in our official regalia, the team departed for Oroku in a fully air-conditioned Sienna vehicle generously sponsored by the National Body of the NBA Women Forum.
We arrived well ahead of the scheduled Funeral Mass, ensuring we were fully present to show our support. Upon seeing our team, Barr. Amaka Umeh was visibly moved and overcome with emotion. Her tearful reaction spoke volumes about her deep appreciation and how much our presence meant to her and her family.
During the condolence ceremony, Barr. Ngozi Onyia read aloud the official condolence letter from the National Body, which was duly signed by the Chairperson and Secretary of the NBA Women Forum.

Following the Mass, we were graciously and lavishly hosted by our sister and her family. In addition to the formal message of condolence, members of the Forum also presented individual condolence purses as heartfelt tokens of love and solidarity.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Barr. Amaka Umeh and her entire family during this time of loss. May the gentle soul of her beloved mother find eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord.
