In June 2025, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), acting on the approval of its National Executive Council (NEC), constituted a Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) Prosecutors’ Team.
This team of seasoned advocates and dedicated professionals serves as the ethical watchdog of the legal profession. Their mandate is clear: to present petitions before the LPDC on behalf of the NBA, against any legal practitioner found by the NBA Ethics and Disciplinary Committees to have a prima facie case of professional misconduct.
For young lawyers and new wigs, this reminder is crucial. The LPDC is the body that ensures the dignity of the legal profession is preserved. Every practitioner is expected to adhere strictly to the Legal Practitioners Act and the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowing that violations may be investigated and prosecuted before the LPDC.
The LPDC Prosecutors’ Team comprises:
- Charles Amajuoritse Ajuyah, SAN – Chairman / Chief Prosecutor
- Offiong E.B. Offiong, SAN
- Akinlolu T. Kehinde, SAN
- Tochukwu Maduka, SAN
- Oladipo Tolani, SAN

- Titilayo Precious Soje, Esq.
The NBA President, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, at the time of the appointments, charged the team to uphold discipline and fairness in their work.

For every lawyer — and especially those just beginning their journey at the Bar — it is important to remember that professional discipline is not optional but foundational to legal practice.
The LPDC Prosecutors’ Team stands as a reminder that the NBA is committed to protecting the integrity of the profession and ensuring that the actions of a few do not tarnish the image of the many.
