Prof. Mohammed Tawfiq Ladan to Speak at NBA Gombe Branch Law Week 2026

The Nigerian Bar Association Gombe Branch has announced that distinguished legal scholar, Mohammed Tawfiq Ladan, will be speaking at the NBA Gombe Branch Law Week 2026.

The Law Week, scheduled to hold from 15th – 21st May, 2026 in Gombe State, will be held under the theme: “Strengthening Justice Through Reforms: Lawyers as Agents of Change.”

The programme is expected to attract legal practitioners, jurists, academics, and policy stakeholders to deliberate on reforms necessary to strengthen Nigeria’s justice system and the role lawyers must play in advancing meaningful change.

Mohammed Tawfiq Ladan is a respected authority in international law, human rights law, and constitutional law. He served as the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS), Nigeria’s premier institution for advanced legal research and policy development.

Prior to this role, he was a Professor of Law at Ahmadu Bello University, where he made significant contributions to legal scholarship and research, particularly in governance, rule of law, and international legal studies.

Professor Ladan has also served as a consultant and adviser to international institutions including the United Nations on matters relating to human rights, governance, anti-corruption, and justice sector reforms.

Over the years, he has authored numerous scholarly publications and remains a strong voice in advancing legal reforms across Nigeria and Africa.

His presence at the NBA Gombe Branch Law Week 2026 is expected to bring deep insight to discussions on how lawyers can serve as catalysts for justice reforms and institutional strengthening.
