Prof. Foluke Dada-Lawanson has expressed deep sorrow and profound concern over the tragic killing of Princess Chigbo Mediatrix, Esq., describing her death as a devastating loss to her family, the Nigerian Bar, and all who believe in the sanctity of human life.
In a condolence statement, Prof. Dada-Lawanson noted that the killing of a legal practitioner under such brutal circumstances underscores the worsening state of insecurity in the country.

According to her, whether the incident was an act of criminal opportunism or a targeted attack, the reality remains that a lawyer lost her life in circumstances that should never be normalized in any civilized society.

She joined voices with concerned Nigerians in calling on the Nigeria Police Force to conduct a thorough, transparent, and uncompromising investigation into the matter, stressing that the truth must be uncovered and all those responsible, directly or indirectly, brought to justice.
Prof. Dada-Lawanson also urged the Federal Government and State Governments to urgently intensify efforts to secure lives and property across the country, noting that the safety of citizens must remain a foremost priority.
She further stated that the tragedy highlights a painful reality confronting the legal profession the growing vulnerability of lawyers, particularly women, in an increasingly unsafe public space.
She concluded with prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul and expressed hope that her life and death would not be in vain, but would instead serve as a catalyst for urgent reforms and stronger protections for members of the legal profession.
