In a powerful message brimming with pride and hope, Professor Foluke Dada-Lawanson, Chair of the Lawyers in Academia Forum and former 2nd Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association (2018–2020), has congratulated the newly called lawyers, commending their resilience and welcoming them into the noble profession of law.
“Congratulations on this extraordinary milestone. Today, you don the wig and gown not just as a symbol of success, but as a badge of responsibility, integrity, and purpose,” she wrote.
Describing the Call to Bar as both a personal triumph and a national gain, she continued: “This moment is more than a ceremony; it is the culmination of years of sleepless nights, prayers, sacrifices, and unwavering determination.”
While celebrating their achievements, Prof. Dada-Lawanson reminded the new wigs of the deeper meaning of the legal profession:
“The law is not just about books or courts. It is about people. It is about justice. About using your knowledge to make the system better — fairer, more humane, more courageous.”
Encouraging them to make their mark, she added: “May your journey at the Bar be marked not just by success, but by significance. Let your legacy be one of fairness, compassion, and courage.”

She concluded with these words of inspiration:
“Go forth and be bold. You are called not only to the Bar, but to a higher standard. The world is watching — and believing — in you.”
